Highland Cow or Bull Bench – Who would want to settle for a sofa or a cow-ch when you can have a striking object of art that doubles as a practical piece of furniture ?
How now Brown Highlander Cow or Bull ?
Life Size Highland Cow or Bull Bench
The Life Size Highland Bovine Bench or Seat is moulded out of the statue of a Highland cow or bull lying down. It is manufactured in hard wearing fibreglass and finished in resin with the rough texture of a real Highlander`s coat.
The bench is finished in brown, and weighs around 50kg. It can be situated indoors or outside, having been constructed to withstand the purpose it was designed for.
The Highland Cow/Bull bench is an instant attraction, providing a unique rest area that people will love. It is also a fantastic marketing tool which can be decorated or inscribed with the names or logos of generous benefactors or sponsors.
Similar to the other bull and cow models, metal lugs are attached to the body which enable the Highland cow bench to be firmly secured to the ground if necessary.
Crieff Cowches Art Trail
Crieff Highland Cowches on display
In 2019, Horn Imports was commissioned to design and produce 11 Highland Cow Bench Models by the town of Crieff in Scotland. Historically Crieff has been an important market place for highland cow trading, so it was decided that this Highlander model would be the most appropriate.
Design entries were invited from local artists to paint the cow models. A competition was then held in the Town Hall, where the public voted for their favourites. Sponsors stepped forward, and after all the cow bench designs were completed by the artists; they were put outside on display around the Crieff area.
Crieff Highland Cow Bench
Such was the response to the project , that The Crieff Cowches trail is believed to have brought as many as 15,000 people into the area.
More than 2,500 trail maps were picked up by locals and tourists as they hunted the Cowches which were spread as far apart as Glenturret Distillery and Innerpeffray Library.
Visitors were invited to take a seat, and spend time taking in the surroundings and share photographs.
At the end of the summer, the Highland Cow bench models were auctioned off at a charity dinner held at Crieff Hydro. The event was streamed live over the internet , raising substantial funds for a great cause.

All of our life-size animal models are made of high quality polyester resin & fibre-glass. And the excellent life-size cattle models are one of our most popular ranges. In addition to the Highland Cow bench, we have a number of other cattle models. As dairy farmers with lifelong experience of working with real dairy cattle, we felt qualified to design the life size replica cows; especially as we still have readymade real models running around the fields on the family farm.
Based on the ideal milking cow, their resemblance is the closest to any real bovine in the world. Please take time to compare our cow models to others on the internet; and you will see quite clearly that they are far superior in terms of size, detail and confirmation.
Check out the measurements – others are only a fraction of the size and scale of real dairy cows.
Various Cow Models
Our life-size standing model cow comes in two positions; either head-up or grazing with her head down. Through experience with plastic cows over the years; and unlike other inferior cattle models; a feature which we now specify as standard is metal spars moulded between the front and back legs. This provides far greater strength, as well as added security since holes are bored through the spars in order to peg or bolt down the model onto any surface.
In addition there`s a calf model which is great on its own; or ideal as a companion to other cattle models to make a family cow group. This is another animal model which we are frequently having to modify for various clients.
We supply the cow models as standard Friesian or Holstein cattle or simply plain white – so that you can paint your own. However should you wish another breed of cattle or even totally different design, branding or modification; our artist will be only too happy to work to your brief. Various examples can be found in the Gallery. Length of lead times obviously depend on what is required; however we are well used to working to deadlines; so please just ask.
Likewise the bull models are available to order in black, black and white and brown and white.
Cow Model Uses
Our models can be found not only across the UK; but widespread over all the continents. And the uses of the models is so varied. This is perfectly illustrated in the gallery where individual clients mix with zoos, science museums, marketing companies, dairy businesses, cheese companies, charities and children`s farm attractions.
These 3D model cows will not only enhance your stand at a trade-show or exhibition; but will have huge impact for any farm-shop, coffee shop, animal-feed store looking for a unique method to advertise.
The high quality of the detail in the modelling, would fit into any woodland, countryside or farm yard setting, themed area or in shops, businesses, pubs, restaurants, adventure golf courses, theme parks or even in your own garden.
We recommend that all the animal models which are going to be used outdoors be coated with a transparent gloss of UV resistant varnish, but we would advise where possible placing the models inside during winter months.
